Project Team
The project team is made up of consultants and contractors who were onboarded at various stages of the W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre Renewal Project.
Partners were selected based on their ability to successfully contribute to the project, with special emphasis being placed upon their willingness to collaborate and innovate. Additional partners may also be onboarded at later stages of the project should a need to do so arise.
Loyalist Township is the owner of the W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre Renewal Project.
Chandos Construction was onboarded as the General Contractor for the project in June 2023. Chandos is one of North America’s most collaborative and innovative commercial builders and have extensive experience building and renovating recreation facilities.
MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects is a Toronto-based architectural with extensive experience working on community centres and is responsible for the overall design of the facility.
Introba is the engineering firm who will be leading the design of the facility’s mechanical and electrical systems, which will include ensuring that the facility’s sustainability goals are met.
Entuitive engineering will lead the structural design of the building as well as its envelope.
Modern Niagara joined the IPD team as a trade partner and will be responsible for the installation of the mechanical and electrical systems in the new facility.
Acapulco Pools will be responsible for the construction of the new leisure and lap pool. This will involve the construction of the pool decks and basins, tiling, and pool-specific mechanical systems.
