The W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre Renewal Project is a key part of Loyalist Township’s long-term recreation strategy. Construction began in March of 2024 with work being completed in phases to minimize disruptions on arena programming. Once the revitalization work is complete in the third quarter of 2026, the facility will include a new 8-lane, 25-metre pool, a warm-water leisure pool, arena upgrades, enhanced accessibility, green energy improvements, and the creation of an Indigenous Legacy Space in partnership with the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund.
The W.J. Henderson Revitalization Campaign aims to raise $2 million toward the project through community partnerships, sponsorships, and donations. Campaign volunteers and Township staff continue to engage additional partners to support this important community investment. To learn more, visit www.wjrenewal.ca/donate.
